A Darker Shade of Magic/ V.E. Schwab/Science Fiction
4/5 Stars
If you know me at all, you know that I am a big fan of V. E. Schwab. I think her stories are unique and intriguing. This book doesn’t fall short.
Honestly, I don’t even know how to begin this review or end it. As usual, Schwab has left me speechless.
This story is beautifully woven and takes place in London. Not England’s London, but London. And another London. And Another. And I think one more London?
The main character, Kell, wields magic. I mean, other people can do this, but he’s special. He’s one of the few who can travel between worlds, or Londons, I should say. (Get it now?)
Kell finds a talisman in one of the Londons that shouldn’t be there. It’s a raw, powerful type of magic, and it’s dangerous. This book is his story.
This is the first in a trilogy by Schwab, and honestly, I don’t know if I can provide a great written review of this book until I finish the others. So here is my crappy one for now.
I look forward to diving into more of this story.
